Summery air makes a return, tracking storms into weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Warm and humid conditions have built into the area. Stay hydrated and pack the sunscreen if y ou have plans to be outside. Temperatures will hold near 90. A spot storm is possible south of HWY 54.

TONIGHT: Staying quiet & muggy overnight with lows only falling to near 70.

EXTENDED: Friday is looking to stay toasty, too. Temperatures will top out near 90, if not some low 90's by the afternoon with the feels like temperatures pushing into the middle 90's. Storms will get going to our north as a disturbance rolls through the Upper Midwest. These storms will drop south overnight and push in early Saturday morning. They'll pack a severe threat with them, with a few gusty winds possible. That threat seems to be on the lower side, as these will likely be weakening as they approach. Storm chances stick around for the remainder of the weekend, leading to a break from the heat Saturday. Storms more scattered in coverage will get temperatures back in the upper 80's Sunday, and keep them there going forward. Daily storm chances look to join the heat and humidity next week.
