Strong to severe storms possible later today

SPC D1

THURSDAY: Storms push back in this morning but should behave aside from a rumble of thunder or two. These look to move out toward the later morning hours. But that break appears to be short-lived with another round of storms redeveloping and moving in. Anytime after 1 PM these storms could move in, depending on your location, and could be strong to severe. Check out the Insider Blog for the latest details on this morning and afternoon's storms. Highs will get into the low to mid 70's, helping fuel some of the afternoon activity.

TONIGHT: Severe threat will start to wane an hour or two after sunset with storms leaving by midnight. Breezy conditions will be a part of the afternoon and that looks to carry over tonight. Those winds will move in colder air with lows falling all the way into the 40s by daybreak.

EXTENDED: Colder air will be stuck in place Friday with temperatures holding all day in the low 40's but we'll be drying out. A similar-feeling day on Saturday minus the breezy conditions with highs in the 40's. Sunday, rain chances return, so it looks like a dreary close the weekend. Rain amounts appear to be light at this point and should leave before the start of the workweek. Warmer weather makes a return on Monday with highs back in the 50's, with 60's in store on Tuesday.
