Rain arrives tonight, lasts into Saturday

returning rain chances

THIS AFTERNOON: Rain will continue to hold off until later in the evening. Temperatures will remain chilly, in the low-to-mid 40s. Have the jacket ready if you have any Friday evening plans.

TONIGHT: Rain will build in after dark, with the heaviest arriving by 2 or 3 in the morning Saturday. Rain will continue through the morning hours, with some sleet and snow mixing in north of I-70. We're not expecting winter impacts with this storm system.

EXTENDED: A nasty day in store on Saturday with that cold, and somewhat breezy rain into the afternoon. Highs will only make it into the upper 30's in the afternoon. That rain tapers off into the afternoon and evening from west to east. Sunday looks dry but may be one of the few in the next week without some sort of rain chance. Temperatures in the afternoon on Sunday will try to recover back into the upper 40's to close out the weekend. Rain chances push back in Monday and will be off and on throughout much of next week.
