Winter weather chances increasing for the weekend

THURSDAY: Gusty winds will continue through the afternoon. Temperatures remain mild in the mid 50s.

TONIGHT: Winds settle down overnight with temperatures falling to near the freezing mark.

EXTENDED: Friday is another mild, mostly cloudy day with highs in the low 50s. A cold front rolls through mid-Missouri on Saturday, bringing a chance at light rain showers/flurries, impacts aren't expected at this time. A stronger storm system will set up Sunday afternoon, bringing the potential of light to moderate snow Sunday evening, continuing overnight into Monday morning. Snow seems to be favoring northern mid-Missouri, while folks to the south may have to fight snow and freezing rain. Still too early to talk numbers, but confidence is growing for an impactful winter storm Sunday night into Monday.
