Mild weather returns for the weekend, winter cold looming

TONIGHT: Clouds will remain partly cloudy overnight, it will be chilly. Temperatures fall into the upper 20s.

SATURDAY: We'll wake up to sunshine tomorrow morning, but you'll need the coat. Temperatures will be in the 30s out the door. By the afternoon, expected temperatures near 50 degrees.

EXTENDED: Sunday looks dry but cloudy. Temperatures will remain mild, in the mid 50s. Rain shower chances look to develop late in the evening and last into early Monday morning. A strong cold front will follow into Monday afternoon, dropping temperatures throughout the day, perhaps allowing early afternoon rain to change to a few wet snowflakes. This front will bring a nationwide chill, where temperatures will struggle to climb into the 30s for most of next week. Snow chances look slim next week, but mid-to-long range precipitation data for next week has been highly variable. (That is to say... it's a bit up in the air at this point in terms of how active we get precip-wise. The cold will be surefire.)
