Tracking more summer heat and sunshine to enjoy

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny and hot, with highs around 90 degrees. Humidity is more noticeable with dew points in the upper 60s.

TONIGHT: Clear and mild overnight, with lows in the lower 70s.

EXTENDED: The rest of the week is sunny and hot, but pop-up storms will be possible each afternoon from Wednesday through Friday. The heat index rises to the upper 90s by the end of the week and remains near 100 degrees on Saturday and Sunday. Rain chances will be next to zero this weekend and next week as the heat lingers, but a pattern shift should cool temperatures to the 80s by the middle of next week.
