Tracking scattered storms today, quieter tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Scattered showers and storms, with a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect south of I-70 and west of Hwy 54 for possible strong winds and large hail. Highs in the upper 50s and 60s.

TONIGHT: Rain winds down early overnight, ending near midnight. Lows fall to the 40s.

EXTENDED: Quieter and cooler weather is expected mid to late week with below-average highs in the 60s. Conditions will be dry through the weekend, but chances for rain will return by Sunday night into early next week, and temperatures will rebound to the 70s into early May.
