Tracking a warmer weekend with showers before storms next week

TODAY: I'm tracking showers and sub-severe storms moving in from the west throughout the morning, leading to an increase in clouds throughout the day. This will lead to off and on showers lingering throughout the early afternoon hours, mostly along and north of I-70, as temperatures warm into the low to mid-70s. Winds will be mostly out of the southeast throughout the day at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking mostly dry but cloudy conditions lasting overnight as temperatures slowly drop into the low 60s by the end of the night. Winds will continue out of the south at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another mild but cloudy day on Sunday as isolated showers are expected in the morning, with more widespread showers by the afternoon and evening hours as temperatures get into the mid-70s. Even warmer weather is expected next week, with temperatures in the 80s Monday through Wednesday. During this period of time, daily storm chances are expected, some of which could be strong to severe. This is why ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Days are in effect at least for Monday and Tuesday, but storms could linger into Wednesday. Temperatures are still expected to stay in the upper 70s throughout the rest of the week, but more chances of showers and storms are in the forecast.
