Tracking a cold start to the day before warmth makes a return

TODAY: I'm tracking a chilly walk out the door as temperatures start in the mid to upper 20s. By the afternoon hours, sunshine and southerly winds at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph will help boost temperatures into the upper 50s and low 60s.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking an increase in cloud cover overnight as winds continue to blow out of the south at 5-10 mph with gusts up to 15 mph. This will lead to a gradual cooldown, with temperatures expected to get into the low 40s by the end of the night.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking clouds decreasing throughout Sunday as southerly winds at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph help warm temperatures up into the low 70s by the afternoon hours. Monday will be even warmer, as low to mid-80s and sunshine are expected across Central Missouri. Tuesday will start dry and warm, as temperatures are expected to get into the low 80s once again by the afternoon, but during the afternoon and evening hours, the potential for showers and storms quickly enters the area. This will mark the start of a wetter, cooler pattern throughout most of next week, as daily rain chances are expected Wednesday through Friday. On Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures will only warm into the mid-50s, but by Friday, the 70s are once again in the forecast.
