Tracking a mild but blustery afternoon
THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly cloudy and warm, with highs in the upper 50s and low 60s. Winds from the southwest will be strong, gusting up to 30 mph. Fire weather conditions are expected in the afternoon and evening due to low humidity, and a Red Flag Warning is in effect for Camden, Pulaski, and Phelps counties through 7 PM.
TONIGHT: Temperatures will fall into the 30s and 40s overnight as clouds persist. A weak cold front will move through the area late overnight, bringing calmer and slightly cooler winds from the northeast.
EXTENDED: Clouds will stick around on Wednesday, but temperatures should stay comfortable in the mid-50s with a much lighter breeze. Rain chances will increase Wednesday night as a quick-moving system passes through, with snow flurries possibly mixing in across far northeast Missouri. No snow accumulations are expected, and rainfall will be less than a quarter inch for most as showers end early Thursday morning. Thursday will be another mild day, with highs in the mid-50s and sunshine by the afternoon. The workweek will finish on a very warm note as southerly winds return on Friday, pushing temperatures into the 60s across the area, with the possibility of reaching 70 degrees in the last days of February. Saturday might also be similarly warm, but a cold front will bring wetter and cooler conditions into the start of the new month.
