Tracking a cold and blustery day

THIS AFTERNOON: Temperatures fall through the 30s to near freezing before dinnertime. Winds from the north will be strong at 15 to 20 mph, with gusts above 25 mph.

TONIGHT: Winds relax slightly after sunset, but some gusts up to 20 mph remain possible. With clear skies, lows tumble to the teens, with the wind chill in the single digits early tomorrow.

EXTENDED: Thursday starts sunny, but stays cold in the 30s, and clouds roll back in late in the day. These clouds may produce a few flurries on Friday, but afternoon highs will climb to the upper 30s and low 40s. Another push of cold will bring even harsher cold for the weekend, with temperatures in the 20s all day Saturday, and a wind chill near zero by Sunday morning. Temperatures should start to moderate next week, warming back to around average in the 30s and 40s.
