Tracking seasonable weather sticking around for the New Year

TODAY: I'm tracking a cold start to the day as temperatures feel like they are in the single digits while actual air temperatures are in the mid-teens. By the afternoon, sunshine and winds out of the west at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph will lead to temperatures warming into the mid-30s.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking a mostly clear night as winds blow out of the northwest at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Temperatures will drop into the mid-20s by the end of the night.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking another sunny afternoon on New Year's Eve as temperatures quickly warm into the mid-40s by the afternoon hours. Cloudy but dry weather can be expected to start the New Year on Thursday, which will keep temperatures in the upper 30s. Dry weather will persist throughout the rest of the forecast as sunshine sticks around. This will help in a weekend warmup as temperatures get into the low 50s by Sunday afternoon. Slighlty cooler weather will return for next week.
