Tracking a dangerously cold and blustery Monday
THIS MORNING: Below-zero wind chills in the early morning, with wind gusts up to 30 mph from the northwest. Wind chills remain near zero until noon.
TODAY: Sunny but extremely cold, with afternoon wind chills in the low teens at best. Winds stay strong throughout the day, gusting over 20 mph at times.
EXTENDED: Blustery conditions will ease on Tuesday, as a milder southerly breeze brings more seasonable temperatures in the upper 30s. We'll hit the 40s on Wednesday for New Year’s Eve, and a dry cold front will mark the start of the new year on Thursday. Temperatures briefly dip into the 30s again on New Year's Day, but will warm back to the low 40s into the weekend. No precipitation is expected this week as rain stays south of us this weekend.
