Tracking a sunny but chilly afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny and chilly, with highs in the mid-20s at best.

TONIGHT: Skies remain clear overnight, allowing temperatures to fall back to the teens. Wind chills could reach single digits in northern Missouri by sunrise on Friday.

EXTENDED: The week ends on a nicer note as sunshine and a light southwest breeze will push highs back into the 40s on Friday and Saturday. An area of low pressure looks to track through the region between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, and may bring precipitation Sunday morning. There is still uncertainty on the type and amount of precipitation this weekend, but overall, lighter impacts are expected for now.
