Tracking storms today and widespread rain later in the week
TODAY: I'm tracking an increasing chance for showers and storms throughout the rest of the afternoon as temperatures warm into the low 60s. A few of these storms may be able to produce hail and lightning, becoming possible in areas like Columbia and Jefferson City by 3-5 pm. These storms will gradually exit through the evening, leading to a quiet rest of the night as temperatures drop into the low 50s and winds blow out of the southwest at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 15 mph.
TOMORROW: I'm tracking a mostly dry day as temperatures warm into the low 70s by the afternoon hours. Clouds will increase throughout the day as winds blow out of the north at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 15 mph.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking temperatures cooling off for the rest of the week, only warming into the low to mid-60s Wednesday through Friday. Along with this, an increasing potential for widespread rainfall will arrive late Wednesday night, lasting throughout the majority of Thursday. This rainfall will gradually exit the region through Friday afternoon, leading to a dry but cool weekend as temperatures only warm into the mid to upper 50s Saturday and Sunday.
