Tracking a mild end to the week, big cooldown this weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a few spotty showers before midnight. Lows remain milder in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Clouds clear out early, with sunshine in the afternoon and highs near 70 degrees.

EXTENDED: We'll start the weekend off chilly with morning temperatures near 40 and increasing clouds throughout the day. We could see a few light showers north of I-70, including at Faurot Field, as low pressure moves by to our north. Temperatures will begin dropping late in the day as an arctic air mass slides in over the Great Lakes. Sunday morning will be cold with lows in the upper 20s to low 30s, with highs only reaching near 40. Monday will be the coldest morning of the season with morning temperatures in the upper teens to low 20s. We'll start the week off cold with highs in the lower 40s. Temperatures rebound by Tuesday as the upper level pattern flattens out, with highs in the 50s and 60s the rest of the week.
