Tracking dreary skies today, rain returning tomorrow

TODAY: Overcast and cool, with temperatures in the 50s. Winds will be light out of the east, blowing between 5 and 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Cloudy skies will persist overnight, with temperatures remaining in the low 50s.

EXTENDED: Tuesday begins dry, but rain will return by late morning and become widespread through the afternoon. Showers could be heavy at times, but no thunder or lightning is expected. Rain will continue through Tuesday night and early Wednesday, finally ending by Wednesday afternoon. A widespread half-inch of rain is expected, with some areas receiving up to an inch. Temperatures will be cool under the rain, in the 50s during the day and upper 40s overnight. Once the rain stops, even cooler air will move in late in the week, dropping morning lows to the upper 30s. Halloween will be cool, with highs in the 50s in the afternoon and falling into the 40s for trick-or-treating.
