Tracking dreary skies and scattered showers for Sunday

TODAY: Isolated showers in the morning, becoming more widespread by the afternoon. Rain chances will be highest south of I-70, and temperatures will be cool in the 50s across the area. Rain totals could reach half an inch south of I-70, while those up north will receive a few tenths of an inch.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and drier, with highs in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.

EXTENDED: Rain chances increase again by Tuesday morning as an upper level low pressure system tracks across the central U.S. Showers will persist through Tuesday and most of Wednesday before this system departs, leaving nearly an inch of rain. A few weaker waves later in the week will keep some clouds around, but dry and cool weather is expected by Halloween on Friday.
