Tracking showers, storms, and a noticeable cooldown
TONIGHT: I'm tracking scattered showers and storms picking up after sunset for areas near Macon and Moberly. This activity will slowly move south overnight, making it to areas like Columbia and Jefferson City after midnight as temperatures drop into the low 60s. The majority of these storms aren't expected to be severe, but some could produce gusty winds and hail for areas to the west.
TOMORROW: I'm tracking scattered showers and storms for the morning hours before a brief break in activity. The main line of storms will begin along and south of I-44 by 12-2 pm, with coverage extended to the north by 3-6 pm. The strongest storms will begin in the I-44 corridor and quickly move south, making for a very small window to see severe storms in the area. Most will notice heavy rainfall and lightning as temperatures warm into the mid 70s by the afternoon hours.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking much cooler weather as temperatures start in the mid 40s Sunday morning, only warming into the mid 60s by the afternoon hours. Plenty of sunshine is set to go along with it. Similar weather will continue throughout the majority of next week as breezy northerly winds take over the area by Monday-Tuesday. This will help keep temperatures cooler than what has been experienced recently.
