Tracking a foggy morning and a dry weekend
TODAY: Saturday starts foggy, thanks to some rain on Friday and subsequent clearing and cooling overnight. We'll be in the 50s in most places through sunrise, however, a few 40s are possible with the clear skies. Through the day, we expect a decent amount of warming to lift us into the 60s by 10 a.m. and into the 70s shortly after noon. We'll kickoff at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium in the mid-60s, but we expect to be in the 70s by the fourth quarter. Winds are light from the east.
TONIGHT: It's a great night around the fire pit this evening. Temperatures fall into the 60s after sunset, and into the 50s by midnight. Winds will remain easterly, with a slight shift from the southeast.
EXTENDED: A south wind shift will precede a notable warmup on Sunday. We expect sunshine and a south breeze around 10-20 mph to push temperatures into the low 80s. This is a precursor to an approaching cold front that won't arrive until Monday, but may generate some showers by Sunday evening in our western counties. Most will stay dry, but a few showers will be possible Sunday night through Monday morning. With the front settling nearby as a boundary, we'll keep clouds in the forecast, but rain chances are slim through most of next week. Temperatures may linger in the 70s with Mostly cloudy skies Monday through Wednesday.
