Tracking heat and sunshine to end the weekend

TODAY: Sunny and warm with afternoon temperatures in the mid-80s. Winds from the south will be gusty at times, reaching up to 20 mph.

TOMORROW: Increasing clouds, with highs in the mid-80s. Rain chances are possible in the afternoon, especially in southeast Missouri, where scattered showers and storms are expected to develop.

EXTENDED: Rain chances persist through Tuesday as a cold front moves through the area, bringing scattered showers and storms during the day. Rain totals will be light, less than a quarter inch, before rain ends by Wednesday. Sunshine returns midweek, with noticeably milder temperatures in the 70s behind the cold front.
