Tracking sunny skies and warm temperatures today

TODAY: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the upper 80s.

THIS EVENING: Clear and mild as temperatures fall into the 70s after sunset. Lows drop to the 60s by early Saturday.

EXTENDED: Sunshine and warm temperatures are expected all weekend long, with highs in the upper 80s. These temperatures are very warm for early October, above average by over 10 degrees at times. A sluggish cold front will sit to our northwest early next week, keeping rain just out of reach through Monday. Rain chances increase on Tuesday and Wednesday, with some spots receiving up to a quarter of an inch. While it won't be a washout, we'll get a long-awaited cooldown with highs in the low to mid 70s by Wednesday.
