Tracking comfortable temperatures and light rain chances

THIS MORNING: Cool with morning temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Clouds gradually roll in from the west.

TODAY: Mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s. A few showers are possible south of Highway 50 by the evening.

EXTENDED: Rain will linger in southern Missouri through early Thursday, but sunnier skies are expected later in the day, with highs in the upper 70s. Overall, it looks fantastic for tailgating on Thursday for the Mizzou football game and comfortable in the evening after kickoff. We'll end the week with highs in the low 80s on Friday, and a stunning Labor Day weekend with lows in the upper 50s at night and highs near 80 during the day. We'll remain in this northwest upper flow pattern through the middle of next week before we start to see any shifts, with very little rain after Thursday morning until maybe late next week.
