Tracking a blast of fall air early this week

TODAY: Sunny and comfortable, with high temperatures in the upper 70s. Winds from the northwest will be steady between 5 to 10 mph, but gusts up to 20 mph are possible.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy and even cooler, with highs in the mid-70s.

EXTENDED: Some clouds are expected on Monday as rain passes south of the area. Mid-MO stays dry through the middle of the week, and temperatures remain very fall-like in the 70s during the afternoons. Near-record low temperatures are expected Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, in the upper 40s. Rain chances return by Thursday and continue into next weekend as an active pattern develops. However, rain and clouds will keep temperatures below average, remaining in the low 80s throughout the forecast.
