Tracking one more day of extreme heat before relief
TODAY: I'm tracking temperatures feel like they are 100-105 degrees for all of central Missouri throughout the afternoon hours. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day is in effect until this evening. To read more about this event, visit our blog: https://abc17news.com/weather/2025/08/12/weather-alert-day-feeling-like-105-108-monday/. Isolated showers and storms will become possible by around 5-7 pm, with some storms having the potential to produce wind gusts up to 60 mph. Temperatures will fall into the mid 70s by the end of the night.
TOMORROW: I'm tracking a decaying round of storms entering mid-MO by the early morning hours on Tuesday before drying up in the afternoon. Temperatures will still feel close to 100 degrees in the afternoon hours, but a cold front in the evening will bring relief by Wednesday. Some showers and storms could be expected with the passage of this cold front.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking temperatures staying in the mid 80s throughout Wednesday afternoon, which will set the trend for the rest of the week. Temperatures will stay in the low to mid 80s each afternoon, and humidity will be lower, leading to slightly more comfortable conditions. Plenty of sunshine is expected throughout this period as well.
