Tracking a fantastic weekend with light smoke lingering

TODAY: Mostly sunny and slightly hazy with highs in the mid-70s. Air quality will improve compared to yesterday, but sensitive groups should still be cautious of light wildfire smoke in the region. Northeast winds gust up to 15 mph throughout the day.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and pleasant with highs in the upper 70s and a gentler breeze coming from the east.

EXTENDED: A steady warmup is expected next week as high pressure expands into the region from the southwest. Daily rain chances are possible on the edge of this heat dome, but rain will be isolated, leaving most of the area dry. Temperatures will return to early August averages, with highs reaching the upper 80s by midweek.
