Tracking heavy humidity and hot temperatures this weekend

TODAY: Mostly sunny and humid with highs in the lower 90s and heat index values between 100-103 degrees. Gusty winds from the south up to 30 mph.

TOMORROW: Sunny and just as hot with highs in the low 90s. Humidity drops a hair, keeping the heat index in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees. Winds from the south remain gusty up to 30 mph.

EXTENDED: A heat dome gradually moves east early next week, maintaining high temperatures and heavy humidity. As a cold front stalls north of the area on Tuesday, it may bring scattered storms and clouds for the middle and later part of the week. The heat remains hazardous, with daily highs in the 90s and the heat index reaching the mid-to-upper 90s through the end of the week.
