Tracking a fantastic Father’s Day

TODAY: Partly to mostly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid-80s. Rain chances remain to our west most of the day, but a stray shower is possible near the Lake in the afternoon and evening.

TOMORROW: Rain remains on the fringes of the area on Monday with highs again reaching the mid-80s.

EXTENDED: Temperatures will rise to nearly 90 degrees on Tuesday as we anticipate storm chances for the middle of the week. A cold front moving into northern Missouri on Tuesday afternoon may lead to strong to severe storms into the evening. There is also the potential for severe storms on Wednesday as this cold front progresses through the region. Instability will be very high, and wind shear is becoming more favorable for severe storms in the latest forecasts. Temperatures will briefly drop to the lower 80s and possibly the 70s behind that, but a rebound will bring us back to the upper 80s to almost 90 by next weekend.
