Tracking lower rain chances this afternoon and evening

THIS AFTERNOON: Rain pulls south through the afternoon, possibly allowing for dry time around dinner. Temperatures remain mild in the mid-60s.

TONIGHT: A final band of showers ends by midnight, and low temperatures fall to the 50s as skies clear. Rain totals add up to a quarter to a half inch.

EXTENDED: Friday into the weekend looks fantastic as surface high pressure builds in. There could be a rogue shower or two early Sunday, but rain chances are very slim as highs climb to the 80s by Saturday. Heat and humidity ramp up next week with temperatures increasing into the upper 80s and dew points creeping into the 60s. Storms are possible on Tuesday and Wednesday as an active pattern returns to the region.
