Tracking severe storms on Easter afternoon and evening

EASTER: Sunday is an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day due to the risk of severe storms capable of all hazards, including tornadoes, from noon to 10 PM. A brief pause in showers is expected by midmorning to the early afternoon, allowing the atmosphere to set up for severe storms. These storms are first expected in western Mid-MO around 1 to 3 PM, moving into Columbia and Jefferson City by 5 to 6 PM, and hitting eastern Mid-MO by 7 to 8 PM. All severe hazards are possible today, including a few tornadoes which could be strong. Severe storms exit before midnight.

TOMORROW: Monday starts cloudy and mild in the 50s, with the afternoon warming to the upper 60s as sunshine returns.

EXTENDED: Chances for rain return Tuesday evening, with more widespread potential for showers/storms arriving Wednesday-Thursday. The rest of the week will be rain-filled as temperatures sit in the low to mid 70s each afternoon.
