Tracking multiple chances for snow and dangerously cold air
TONIGHT: I'm tracking rain transitioning into snow by 5-6 PM tonight, which will last through midnight. By the time snow has ended, .5-1" of snow can be expected, with higher totals held to the east of the state. Temperatures will drop into the upper teens by the end of the night.
TOMORROW: I'm tracking clouds decreasing throughout the day, but temperatures will only warm up into the low 20s by the afternoon hours. Winds will be making it feel much cooler out of the north at 15-20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking the next chance for snow arriving Monday afternoon, but the best potential for any accumulation will be held to the north of I-70. Better chances for widespread snow accumulation arrive Tuesday, with the best chances of higher snowfall totals falling along and to the south of I-70. With this snow, dangerously cold air takes over as temperatures through Tuesday will not reach out of the single digits. This bitterly cold air will last through Friday morning before slightly warmer weather returns for next weekend.
