Tracking dangerous cold to kick off the week

THIS MORNING: Much colder to start the day with temperatures in the low teens. Winds will push the feels-like to single digits.

TODAY: Temperatures remain well below freezing despite mostly sunny skies. Highs in the low to mid 20s.

EXTENDED: Cold air sticks around on Tuesday, and a weak disturbance moves in from the north in the morning, bringing a shot at a few flurries early in the day. Temperatures on Tuesday night may reach single digits as skies clear. Improvement is expected by midweek, and highs could climb to 50 by Friday. This warmup comes ahead of a chance for rain or even a few rumbles of thunder late Friday, and there's a chance it could shift to snow into Saturday as morning temperatures Saturday fall into the mid-20s. The weekend is colder with arctic air moving in, dropping highs into the 20s on Sunday.
