Tracking a frigid start to the weekend

TODAY: Bright but chilly with temperatures just barely above freezing in the afternoon.

TOMORROW: Temperatures jump to the 40s on Sunday as southerly winds ramp up. Wind gusts could reach above 20 mph.

EXTENDED: Clouds return on Monday as a cold front moves in but temperatures remain warm while rain chances are low. As this front settles along I-44, rain chances will increase into Christmas Eve and are expected to last through early Christmas Day. This will be a lighter rain that only amounts to about a half inch in the wettest spots, but it will still be enough to keep conditions dreary for the holiday. More rain is also expected for post-holiday travel.
