Tracking a bright Friday, snow impacting travel tomorrow
THIS MORNING: Bright and chilly with temperatures below freezing through noon. Wind chills in the teens early.
TODAY: Temperatures inch a few degrees above freezing in the afternoon while the feels-like dwells in the lower 30s.
EXTENDED: An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued from 6 AM through 3 PM Saturday for light snowfall affecting holiday travel. Nearly the entire area could see a dusting to an inch of snow with a denser snow band developing along I-70. This may push snow totals up to 2 or 3 inches along the interstate from Boonville to St. Louis. This is expected to be a light, fluffy snow for most, impacting visibility as it blows around. There will likely be slick spots through the morning while roads recover during the day, but a refreeze is possible in the overnight as weekend lows drop to the teens.
