Tracking a sunny and chilly Thanksgiving

THIS MORNING: Partly cloudy early with temperatures below freezing through mid-morning.

TODAY: Sunny and cold through the day as the feels-like remains near freezing. Wind chills fall to the 20s after sundown.

EXTENDED: Friday is colder and still sunny with highs in the mid-30s. Conditions will be clear for travel through Friday, but the first snow of the season could bring light impacts on Saturday. Snow showers look to begin before daybreak in our northern counties and move southeast through mid to late afternoon. Snow totals have increased slightly in the newest forecast, with a 60% chance of 1" of snow in central and northern Mid-MO. Isolated 2" amounts are possible (30% chance) under a snow band that currently develops in a line from Mexico to St. Louis. Slick spots and visibility impacts from dry, blowing snow will be possible early Saturday. Temperatures fall to the teens on Saturday night, extending the risk of isolated slick spots. Sunday stays cold with highs near 30 and we'll likely see wind chills near 10 degrees Sunday and Monday mornings.
