Tracking sunshine to end the week, rain this weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny skies will bring temperatures to the low 60s with a light breeze out of the southeast.

TONIGHT: We remain clear overnight as lows fall into the lower 40s, possibly upper 30s in the coldest spots.

EXTENDED: Saturday will start dry, but some in the west could pick up showers as soon as the afternoon, with chances growing for all overnight into Sunday. More waves of showers and storms are likely through Monday, with rain heaviest in the overnights. Our last round of rain comes as a cold front sweeps through the region on Monday with a possibility of stronger storms. Total rain amounts could be between 3 to 5 inches or more with a low flooding concern by Monday.
