Tracking a return to fall this week

TODAY: Temperatures are much milder in the 70s this afternoon behind a cold front. Breezy winds from the northwest could gust up to 25 mph.

TOMORROW: Monday starts off chilly in the upper 30s as northerly winds continue. Highs will barely reach the low 60s.

EXTENDED: The coldest air of the season so far settles in early this week and could produce frost and a freeze on Wednesday morning. That is when we look the coldest in the mid to lower 30s with light winds. Central and eastern Missouri will see the best chance of a freeze, according to the current forecast. Make sure to cover sensitive plants and turn on pool heaters. Late week trends back to near average as rain chances pick up next weekend.
