Tracking more sunshine and warmer temperatures

TODAY: Bright and warm with highs just shy of 80 degrees.

TONIGHT: Cool in the evening in the 60s. Lows by Thursday morning drop to the upper 40s in the coldest spots.

EXTENDED: Above-average warmth continues into the first half of the weekend with 80-degree afternoons through Saturday. This puts us 10 to 15 degrees warmer than normal for right now, but a big change arrives by Sunday. A dry cold front will usher in the coldest air of the season so far with a dramatic drop to double digits below average. Highs early next week will be in the 60s and 50s while overnight lows in the upper 30s could bring the first chance of frost to parts of the region.
