Tracking scattered storms this afternoon

TODAY: Most areas southeast of a line from Sedalia to Mexico will see thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening. Storms will be scattered and a few may produce severe winds and hail. Lightning and heavy downpours are also expected into the overnight.

TONIGHT: Showers and storms linger in the south overnight while those back north are drier. Temperatures will fall into the 60s in the clearest spots.

EXTENDED: Some storms will redevelop near I-44 Saturday afternoon, but most will be dry, and more mild feeling. Highs still manage to reach the low 80s throughout the weekend with lower humidity. By Labor Day it'll feel even better in the 70s.
