Tracking a cool and comfortable weekend

THIS AFTERNOON: The workweek wraps up nicely in the 70s this afternoon with low humidity and mostly sunny skies.

TONIGHT: Some clouds will be in the forecast tonight but that won't stop lows from falling to the mid-50s for a crisp start to the weekend.

EXTENDED: The weekend is picture perfect to get outside as highs stick to the 70s, double digits below average. Rain will pick back up next week and there's a slim chance of a shower hitting the State Fair on Sunday afternoon. Better rain chances are forecast during the workweek as several waves of storms track across the region. Rain totals could exceed 3" in the wettest spots over the next week. Temperatures are still expected to warm closer to average with the rain as the 80s return.
