Tracking cooler temperatures with chances of rain returning into second half of weekend

TODAY: Thursday is very mild, as low humidity partners with highs in the low 80s. Expect mostly sunny skies, and a light northeast breeze near 5 mph.

TONIGHT: Skies remain mostly clear. Temperatures fall into the 50s and 60s with light winds from the northeast.

EXTENDED: Friday is similarly cool, with low humidity and highs near 80 under mostly sunny skies. The surface high pressure that has us cool will slowly shift away over the weekend. Saturday, clouds will increase from the west ahead of shower chances near Kansas City. Some showers may impact our western counties by the late evening, but most will stay dry. By Sunday, low chances for showers will return as low pressure inches in. With a stubborn and nearly stationary upper level trough overhead, steady chances for spotty to scattered showers will return each day through the middle of next week, with daily high temperatures slowly climbing into the mid-80s.
