Tracking near-record heat to end the weekend

TODAY: More sunshine and breezy conditions are expected with gusts up to 20 mph. This combo could break high temperature records for Sunday; Columbia's record high is 89 degrees while the forecast sits at 88.

TOMORROW: Clouds fill back in Monday but temperatures will still make it into the mid-80s. Isolated storms fire up near sundown along a warm front as it tracks north. These will bring a low chance for strong winds and hail.

EXTENDED: Attention turns to Tuesday as a cold front passes through Missouri in the afternoon and evening hours. This will bring a better chance of severe thunderstorms, but there is still uncertainty in the strength and timing of this system. All hazards will be on the table throughout Tuesday. Cooler weather makes a return after this system and another shot of rain is expected before the end of the week.
