Tracking clouds and cold temperatures heading out

THIS AFTERNOON: Partly cloudy with winds gusting up to 25 mph. Highs are much like yesterday, in the 40s and 50s.

TONIGHT: Clouds push further east tonight, leaving potential for more cooling. Winds will also be a bit lighter. This could allow temperatures to fall into near to below-freezing territory. A Freeze Warning and a Frost Advisory are in place across all counties except for near the Lake of the Ozarks.

EXTENDED: Friday is sunnier and warmer in the upper 50s if not low 60s. Southeast winds return Saturday, putting us in the mid-60s under mostly sunny skies. Saturday night into Sunday morning, a warm front brings a chance for showers and a few rumbles of thunder. No severe weather is expected. This will be over by noon on Sunday, and we'll see highs reach 70s. Monday could see lingering clouds behind this for the eclipse, but our region will have some of the best visibility in the entire nation for the upcoming event.
