Tracking a cooler day for some to end the week

THIS AFTERNOON: Southern Missouri stays sunnier today and climbs well into the 60s. Clouds further north will keep those areas stuck in the 40s.

TONIGHT: Temperatures overnight remain well above average settling near 40 degrees; that's typically our seasonal daytime high this time of year.

EXTENDED: Saturday remains warmer and mostly dry, but rain could arrive at the Lake of the Ozarks region by 7-10 p.m. Rain likely only makes it as far north as I-70 overnight, with only slim chances for a few showers in Columbia. The best rain will fall south of HWY 50. Drier and still warmer weather continues next week, with sunshine and highs in the low 50s through Wednesday.
