Tracking winter threats winding down as rain continues

TODAY: Icy conditions from the a.m. may persist through midafternoon but increasing chances for nonfreezing rain and warmer temperatures will slowly melt this away. Rain returns from the south slowly overnight.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will hold near but likely above freezing tonight as rain rates pick up. Parts of southern Mid-MO could receive over a half inch of rain.

EXTENDED: We see some brief dry time on Tuesday as highs climb back into the 40s. Another system approaches from the southwest in the evening, bringing another chance for widespread showers overnight into Wednesday morning. One more round of rain is likely later in the week with Central MO seeing over an inch of rain the next 7 days. Expect generally drier conditions by the weekend with temperatures remaining in the 40s for highs.
