Tracking a cold snap and snow this weekend

TODAY: With strong northerly winds, highs will struggle out of the single digits while the wind chill remains around -10 degrees through the day. Light snow is possible from midmorning to the evening. Some areas could pick up a half inch at most.

TOMORROW: Sunday is the coldest part of our arctic blast with morning wind chills between -20 to -25. The afternoon remains dangerously cold feeling below zero. Another round of powdery snow could fall across our far southern counties with isolated spots seeing 1" or more.

EXTENDED: Monday starts off dry, but feels like about -15 to -20 in the morning. Tuesday will bring sunshine and around the same degree of cold. Wednesday will be the last day of bitterly cold morning wind chills, but temperatures still start out in the single digits before warming up to about 30 in the afternoon with sunshine. A weak front will bring a cool down again by Friday but this next cooldown is not expected to be as intense.
