Tracking wet roads for travel on Friday

TODAY: Widespread showers are possible from morning to early afternoon becoming more spotty late in the day. Temperatures remain mild in the 50s.

TOMORROW: Saturday remains the driest part of the weekend, and also the warmest. Temperatures break into the lower 60s despite clouds and possible drizzle.

EXTENDED: Widespread rain returns Christmas Eve and is set to last through early Christmas Day. Rainfall is looking healthier in newer forecasts with totals over a half inch for most of the area. It's much cooler on Tuesday as winds wrap around low pressure from the north, keeping temperatures in the 40s with a spot shower or two through the day. A couple flurries are possible on Tuesday night as temperatures drop to near the freezing mark if precipitation lingers nearby. The rest of the week is noticeably cooler, but still above average with highs in the mid-upper 40s.
