Tracking a pleasant Thanksgiving forecast

TODAY: After a chilly start, sunshine will aid in getting temperatures to the upper 40s this afternoon. No impacts are expected for holiday travel in our region.

TONIGHT: Conditions remain calm overnight, allowing temps to plummet to the upper 20s.

THANKSGIVING DAY: Thanksgiving will start chilly, but we will warm quickly through the morning. A weak cold front will arrive by midday, but this doesn't appear to set temperatures back much from Columbia and southward. Near Moberly and Macon, temperatures will stick in the 40s, but 50s are expected along and south of I-70.

EXTENDED: Black Friday morning will be chilly with lows in the upper 20s. The afternoon is cooler behind Thursday's front, but only back in the 40s. Temperatures remain cold this weekend, and with an incoming system Saturday night, a few snow flurries may mix into the forecast. Overall, precipitation will be light and confined to the overnight hours. With warm ground temperatures, no impacts are expected. We'll dry up next week, with highs in the 40s to start the week.
