Tracking a near-record warmup in the coming days

TODAY: Dense fog will linger over central Mid-MO through midmorning before sunshine warms temperatures. With clearer skies and winds turning out of the south highs will jump to near 70 degrees this afternoon.

TOMORROW: Winds pick up into Monday ahead of a dry front with gusts up to 25 mph. This front will settle overhead but only manages to produce clouds throughout the day. Highs continue climbing well above average into the mid-70s.

EXTENDED: The cold front lifts back north on Tuesday, bringing in even warmer temperatures to the upper end of the 70s. Highs could be near records on Wednesday with the warmest forecast near 80 degrees. Another front is expected to push through and quickly bring back seasonal conditions by Thursday, though rain will be hard to come by with this system. It's likely that Mid-MO will remain dry through next weekend as cooler conditions settle back in.
