Tracking gloomy weather through Sunday and below freezing temps

TONIGHT: I'm tracking rain chances continuing throughout the rest of the night and temperatures falling back down into the high 30s. Chariton county will be in a freeze warning tonight, so protect any tender plants from cold and take the proper precautions to prevent freezing/bursting pipes.

TOMORROW: I'm tracking cloud cover and more rain chances throughout Sunday morning and much of the afternoon. Some of this rain has the potential to become a non-impactful wintry mix, with the highest chances to observe this being to the northeast of I-70. Heaviest rainfall amounts are expected to be along and to the south of I-44. Temperatures only climb into the low 40s, then cool quickly. Every county in the viewing area will be joining Chariton in the freeze warning once Sunday night arrives. Take care of plants sensitive to the cold, and drain pipes or allow them to drip slowly to prevent the freezing or possibly bursting of outdoor pipes.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a week filled with sunshine but below average temperatures sticking around. By Monday morning, below freezing lows are expected to be widespread, and along with that comes a widespread hard freeze. This will mark the end of the growing season. Monday morning through Wednesday morning, dressing warm will be important as wind chills will be in the teens, and potentially reaching into single digits Wednesday morning. Tuesday, Halloween, is expected to be a much cooler night as a dry cold front passes through Missouri. Wind chills will take part in your night, so dress you and your Trick-or-Treaters properly to enjoy the night.
